Twitterrific Rocks the iPhone App Market with Dynamic RT Functionality

As Twitter is growing in popularity each and every month, more people are looking to the mobile web for entertainment. Whether it be waiting online at the bank or supermarket, or even relaxing at a relatives house with some time to kill, mobile phones are making it easier for us to connect with the entire web.

With iPhone sales launching through the roof, we can only see how mobile Twitter clients will become more and more useful. As Twitter has officially purchased Tweetie to be their “official” application, it’s made it difficult to developers to break into the market. However I just downloaded Twitterrific the other day, and I’m blown away by such enhanced functionality.

Twitter Media Launches with Resources for Tweet Ads

Announced early during April 2010, Twitter has planned to roll out Twitter Sponsored Ads. This means users can pay to have their tweets sent in as many Twitter streams as they are willing to pay for. It’s an interesting business model and revenue stream for the network, but how will it stick?

The news has been everywhere (all over Mashable) and has spread far and wide, throughout the web. I haven’t heard of any companies utilizing the ads yet or what sort of CTR there is, but Twitter has launched a media blog discussing topics and categories related to ads.

Craze.cc – New and Innovative Social News/Discussion Community

I love social media, I’ll get that off my chest right now. There are so many new and innovative websites popping up each and every day which take the idea of social networking and spin it around with some new features and a new look, then present it to you in a clean and elegant way. Well Craze.cc is certainly one of those sites, and the idea is spreading fast.

Built off the Pligg CMS, Craze.cc is a new social networking application which I can only describe as a combination of a small forum board with social news and networking designs. You can register for free, and once you do you can submit questions or discussion topics to the site. There are also small “Like” and “Dislike” buttons on the side to rate the highest-quality discussions.

Twitter Releases Sleek, Clean Homepage Redesign

Although this has been covered by many media blogs, Twitter has indeed released a new home page! I have to say, I’m a big fan of the new design and it definitely allows for a better user experience when first arriving at the site.

Shifting the page design from a small centralized block to utilizng the entire page was a smart move in Twitter’s part, which allows for a scrolling Ajax-styled news feed directly in the center of the page. Scrolling through top Twitter users latest tweets, this is a great way to see what’s up in the world of the net. Plus moving a scrolling newsticker of hash tags to the top allows the page to breathe much easier, while still keeping users informed of what’s happening.

Interview with New Twitter app Taweet: The Future of Twitter

Taweet.com Twitter Logo As Twitter has blown through other social media sites, it’s become one of the most trafficked websites of the present day. Everybody and their grandma is using Twitter, and there’s no shortage of helpful applications and Twitter resources for them all! Ranging from Twitter wallpaper creators to free icons or avatars, the internet hosts them all.

I recently ran into such an app at http://taweet.com/. It’s a beautiful application, and it lets you share and store dates of future events through Twitter, like a Tweet Calendar! I got an awesome interview with the application’s creator and developer William Moynihan, and he’s got some great things to say about seeing all of Twitter’s future through Taweet. Read More…

Kevin Rose’s Failed Microblogging Platform: Where Pownce went Wrong

When Pownce first launched in the summer of 2007, I thought it would revolutionize how I communicated and shared stuff with my friends! By the way Kevin Rose had hyped it, you could share any type of file (music, video, .zip archive), share notes, share photos, really anything you wanted to with your friends! This was an application that was desperately needed on the web, and to this day I still claim there needs to be something to fill the void.

There were, however, many problems with Pownce which lead to it’s downfall. I can’t knock the team at all – they really tried their best to launch the site and create a popular social networking and communication space. But in the real world, website’s of that magnitude cost real-world money… something Pownce wasn’t making enough of.
