Google Releases Exclusive Real-Time Stats Dashboard for Blogger

An update today on the official Blogger blog has introduced us to Google’s latest invention: Blogger Stats. An inline analytics tool working in real-time on all blogs powered by Blogger. You can see current trending searches, visitors and total times per page, along with so many other features.

You can view historically over the past weeks/months, or check your blog posts day-by-day to see which one’s are gaining the most momentum. Google seems to be utilizing a lot of tools from their popular Analytics software, however updated in real-time streamlined directly to your Blogger dashboard!

Google Releases the Official Google Buzz API

Google has finally released an official API with documentation for Google Buzz. In their blog post, DeWitt Clinton of Google’s Development Team went over a few of the new features available in the API and what developers can expect.

I appears as though a lot of work has gone into development, and releasing the code to developers allows for the customization of many Google Buzz apps. Buzz is going to see a surge of new traffic and influence over the web as a popular social media platform, which will help Google get the ball rolling again.

Google’s New Search Results Design goes Live

Google has made some major design changes over the past 10 or 20 years. Although their overall vision hasn’t changed much, they’ve added new features and design ideas to the site. Just recently they’ve launched their newest addition to Google with their new search listings design.

You can tell just from Google’s homepage that something’s different. The buttons and search bar look completely new and improved, along with some updates to their logo with added glossy and “web 2.0″ effects. Although not a new feature, Google has kept with the Ajax loading of header and footer links on the page for faster load times.

MailBrowser – Simple Gmail Plugin for Managing your Contacts

For a long, long time have I been looking for a great Plugin for Gmail to help manage my contacts. I send a lot of e-mails to a lot of different people, and it’s difficult to sort through all of my mail and attachments without getting lost in the thousands upon thousands of messages. However with the new browser plug-in MailBrowser, it’s actually pretty simple.

Currently only supported on Firefox and Internet Explorer, the plugin seems to run perfectly and works on mostly all OS’ (Windows XP/Vista/7, Mac OSX, haven’t tried any Linux distros). It makes managing mail, contacts, and attachments so much easier than before, and the side panel is easily collapsible for more space.

Google Releases Official Buzz Share Widget with Live Counter

Google has recently released the beginning of a small API working with Google Buzz. There have been plenty of issues with Google Buzz’s widget, and many other sites made their own to fill the gap. However with this newest release even Mashable has updated their Buzz widgets.

The new button looks similar to many of the other counter-style widgets we’ve seen. It’s got the Buzz logo with a live count in the main circle, and there’s also a smaller more compressed version similar to Facebook’s share widget. You can customize your site and your button from the Official Buzz API page, where you can choose from follow buttons or share widgets.

Google Merges Startup Visual Search Engine Plink with Google Goggles

Google has taken another step forward in visual and image search after acquiring UK-based startup Plink. Having only launched 4 months ago, Plink is a visual search engine which you can download as an Android app and take a photo of a picture to find out more information about it.

Plink has a lot of info in their official blog post, but it appears as thought he developers will keep Plink available for download but instead shift focus towards Google’s equivalent Google Goggles.

Mashable-Style Google Buzz Widget with Counter Available by Njuice

As many fans of the popular social media blog Mashable know, over the past month or 2 they have been messing around with a new Google Buzz button. Allowing you to share stories over Google Reader which publish into Google Buzz, this small widget has grown in popularity and it seems like every blogger is looking for one!

The problem is, Google hasn’t released any official API for Buzz yet and many are struggling to get any widget working properly. Code hasn’t been released by Mashable or any other blogs running similar buttons, but thanks for a great service at Njuice, you can add a few lines of JavaScript to add a Google Buzz widget right into your blog, just like Mashable!
