New Web Design/Development Community Forrst Blows up Across the Web

Since the major success of Dribbble designers and developers have been looking for such amazing communities to share resources. Because of this, Forrst.com isn’t really a totally new idea in and of itself. However the implementation and UI features are so unique, the community has exploded over the past few months since launch.

Forrst allows you to register an account and run your own profile, similar to a Twitter or Foursquare profile. You can follow other designers/developers in the community to receive their updates on your homepage dashboard.. also in real-time! You can choose to share graphics or mockup designs, called “snaps”, with all of your followers in the community. You can also share snippits of code and even as questions directly to the Forrst community!

For a long time vBulletin was the reigning king of forum software. It’s been around for years, has a highly developed community of experts, and is powering tens of thousands of forums across the internet. However bbPress is a new open-source software developed by the creators of Wordpress.

Emulating a simple threaded web forum, you can install bbPress as a stand-alone application or to tie into a Wordpress blog. User profiles can carry over into both sections, and it allows for you to not just run a website powered by Wordpress… but to launch an entire community!

The transformation from the blogging era has already begun, as more and more people are learning how to start up their own online press. Finding writers and getting a design together is the hardest part, and once you’re set you can jump right in to launch your magazine venture!

Streaming Videos of History Channel’s America: The Story of Us

A riveting documentary and informative series just started last night on History Channel. Simply entitled America: The Story of Us, it contains featured interviews and discussions with important political leaders from everywhere around the US. Luckily for those who missed it, History Channel has some clips streaming from their website.

It appears to be a multi-part documentary series, and History Channel has spared no expense at running up to date pictures and videos from the series on their website. The design is simple to navigate and it’s easy to find information on the play times and content during the series, which I’m already a huge fan of.

There have been quite a few videos in regards to the new Adobe Creative Suite 5, most specifically Photoshop and design software. There have been a lot of updates from the not-so-old CS4 set of Web and Graphic design software.

Craze.cc – New and Innovative Social News/Discussion Community

I love social media, I’ll get that off my chest right now. There are so many new and innovative websites popping up each and every day which take the idea of social networking and spin it around with some new features and a new look, then present it to you in a clean and elegant way. Well Craze.cc is certainly one of those sites, and the idea is spreading fast.

Built off the Pligg CMS, Craze.cc is a new social networking application which I can only describe as a combination of a small forum board with social news and networking designs. You can register for free, and once you do you can submit questions or discussion topics to the site. There are also small “Like” and “Dislike” buttons on the side to rate the highest-quality discussions.

Behind the Scenes at Watch-Series.com: Free TV Series Streaming Online

I have to admit, I hate TV. It’s something that most people base their entire schedule around, without even realizing it. You want to be in front of it by 8PM for your Monday night line-up, or on Sunday’s you enjoy marathons of your favorite shows. It’s not to say this doesn’t work for some people, but it definitely doesn’t work for me.

I found Watch Series a couple of months ago when I was looking for a few shows to watch online. I have found every other show I’ve wanted to watch straight from the site, and they have a HUGE library to choose from and search. I got an awesome interview with the site’s founder and Admin, Petreus Dumitru. Check out his responses below.
