Microsoft Office 2010 Outlook has some New Digs

With Microsoft’s official release of Office 2010 being pushed out of Beta, I’m excited to see where they plan on going next. I’ve been running 2010 beta since they released them for download months ago, and I’ve been more than pleased with all of it! The biggest noticeable change is with Outlook, my favorite e-mail client.

I currently run 4 inboxes through Outlook, and all of them are easily organized and simple to keep track of. The newest features in Outlook allow for so much customization in signatures, plus it makes writing e-mails and managing your contact list a breeze. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about the new Outlook, I’m curious if anyone else is running it?

Jay Adelson Steps Down as CEO of Digg.com

In a recent blog post entitled simply “Update from Jay“, it has been officially announced that Jay Adelson will be stepping down as Digg’s CEO after 5 prosperous and amazing years. Jay has done an amazing job as CEO, and I firmly believe Digg wouldn’t hold it’s current success status today if it wasn’t for his ideas and inspiration.

Although Jay doesn’t state any specific reasons for this choice, he does have virtue and motive to do so. As quoted FTA, “With the new Digg getting ready to launch, Digg Ads doing well, our sales force growing, our hiring ramping, and the company maturing well beyond its startup phase, I feel that now is the right time.”

As much of a shock as this comes, Darren Rowse has actually sold ProBlogger. In an official press release held on the blog, Darren announces Google had offered to buy the blog and add it to their Blogger line of applications, to which Darren had rightfully accepted.

Interview with Professional XHTML/CSS Slicing Company Slicejack

PSD Conversion is a very high-paying business. Many amazing designers know how to work through Photoshop but just don’t have the time or haven’t learned how to code their designs into XHTML and CSS code. This is where many popular companies come in to help, the most popular being psd2html.

I got an interview with the founder and creator of Slicejack Toni Trivkovic. He has some really inspirational words for those who are looking to get into the slicing business. It’s a very high-paying market if you have clients, and understanding how to code PSD’s into XHTML/CSS code is knowledge useful for every web designer and developer.

Why Digg.com is heading for a Major Pitfall

I remember a time when Digg used to roam wild in the Social News kingdom. It was the force to be reckoned with when it came to internet marketing – everybody needed to hit the front page to gain some traffic to their site. I’m sure tons of blogs have built their popularity off of Digg’s massive traffic influx, but there are many signs pointing towards this site closing the lid.

Digg used to be a very popular website – I would frequent the site constantly to check out the greatest news, what was popular today, everything. Granted this was back in 2006 when the site was still relatively new, and I’ve been a Digger all way the way through 2008. However recently it seems as though Digg.com is taking a turn for the worst, and may need a lot of help recovering.

Interview with ThisWebHost – An Impressive new Web Hosting Company

This* Web Host Logo Finding a decent web hosting company today is difficult. So many companies overprice, can’t keep uptime promises, have horrible support, or offer you barely any space to store your site’s files and content. The few that have shown promise in the past are some of my favorites: Hostgator, Dreamhost, Bluehost, etc. However as I was browsing the web one night (like always) I ran into a great looking hosting company, This*.

This* Web Hosting is very affordable, provides an awesome interface to work with as a client, and the site’s design is very nice and easy to navigate. Along with that, the founders of the site keep a blog called This & That, where coupons and discounts are posted, along with important news and updates. I got a great interview with the company’s brains David and Jules, and they’ve got some great information about their very successful and upcoming web hosting company. Read More…
