Pligg Social News CMS Releases Official 1.0.4 Upgrade

The popular Digg-clone script Pligg has released their latest version as of today, stable release 1.0.4. There are a lot of new features from 1.0.3a and 1.0.3b releases of the CMS script, which have fixed a lot of security issues and bugs in the code.

The Pligg developers have also released a set of new modules, while also removing some of the older modules from the default download. New module hooks, which are used to place modules throughout Pligg’s templating system, have also been added and are currently in use for the latest stable release.

How StumbleUpon Advertising has Increased Traffic

Those who use StumbleUpon for both casual web surfing and internet marketing know how powerful the site is. It’s grown substantially over the last year or 2, increasing not only it’s userbase but also the amount of submitted articles and stumbled posts.

One thing that sets StumbleUpon apart from the others is its unique advertising. You can pay $0.05/visitor which StumbleUpon sends your way, and you can do this for any page or article on your site. This adds up after a while – $5.00 for 100 visitors, $50 for 1,000.

CypherBox.net – Great Pligg-based PR4 Social Bookmarking Site

I just want to say, I absolutely love Pligg. It’s an amazing PHP script, free to download which allows you to set up your own social news site similar to Digg. Many micro-niche sites have popped up running on Pligg’s backend, and CypherBox is my latest find.

CypherBox is a Google PageRank 4, which is huge for social bookmarking sites. Not only that, but every link on the page is DoFollow – this means Google passes on PR4 juice to each link you submit! This can greatly impact a new website or blog if you know how to use this system right, and CypherBox is only growing.
