iPhone Google Search to be Replaced by Bing Search

Interesting news surfaced today regarding Microsoft’s Bing Search to be the leading search engine placed on Apple’s newest iPhone’s. Previously running through Google’s search, it appears TechCrunch has some news and further sources who have regarded the credibility of Microsoft taking over the search. The news seems very good for Microsoft as trying to compete against Google as a major search engine is not an easy thing to do.

I’m a bit of a skeptic to this news. I’ve been using an iPhone for the past year or so, and it is one of the most intuitive interfaces I’ve ever run. I don’t know how Bing is going to run on the OS, as I’ve always been a huge fan of Google. In fact, I sort of expect to be searching through Google in almost any app.

Newest Pligg Venture BizSugar: Social News for Business

I’ve been an avid fan of Pligg CMS for a long time now. It’s an open source project, allowing anyone to download and run their own social news community similar to Digg and Reddit. I have my own case study for Pligg as well, and recently BizSugar has caught my attention.

The domain and brand of BizSugar has been included on “web 2.0 site” lists and directories for a long time now. However, the recent re-branding and marketing campaign done by the BizSugar team has launched the site into popularity. I’ve seen ads running on Digg, Mixx, and even Mashable among a few other popular sites.

Digg, Inc. Lays off 10% of Company Staff

In a blog post this morning by Kevin Rose, it appears as though Digg has cut roughly 10% of their staff. Layoffs have been made to around 12 employees, and it was difficult on the entire staff to part with many members.

Digg has done nothing but grow over the past few months, so it’s surprising to see a reduction in their team. It seems as though there are still many engineering positions open for the platform, and Digg, Inc. is actively still interested in hiring for jobs.

Behind the Scenes with Template Monster’s CEO David Braun in 2010

Template Monster has really made a name for itself over the past couple of years. Growing into the leading provide for website templates, clearly the company’s CEO David Braun is doing something right. However with 2010 kicking around, I was intrigued to hear about how Template Monster is doing and where they may be heading. I’ve got a great interview with David below, discussing future plans for TM and where the company will be growing into.

Microsoft Office 2010 Outlook has some New Digs

With Microsoft’s official release of Office 2010 being pushed out of Beta, I’m excited to see where they plan on going next. I’ve been running 2010 beta since they released them for download months ago, and I’ve been more than pleased with all of it! The biggest noticeable change is with Outlook, my favorite e-mail client.

I currently run 4 inboxes through Outlook, and all of them are easily organized and simple to keep track of. The newest features in Outlook allow for so much customization in signatures, plus it makes writing e-mails and managing your contact list a breeze. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about the new Outlook, I’m curious if anyone else is running it?
