Interview with is.gd URL Shortener

New URL Shortening services hit the web every week it seems. I can remember not too long ago when TinyURL was just starting up, and that hit with a huge bang. Ever since then, there have been countless creations of URL shorteners (where some even provided stats). However, only a select few have really succeeded to hit mainstream popularity and be of any use.

is.gd Logo I got an interview with the creator of is.gd, another very popular URL shortening service with many key features. Allowing you to track visitors and create your own custom URL’s, is.gd is really the next step in web 2.0 URL shortening. Interview with ThisWebHost – An Impressive new Web Hosting Company

This* Web Host Logo Finding a decent web hosting company today is difficult. So many companies overprice, can’t keep uptime promises, have horrible support, or offer you barely any space to store your site’s files and content. The few that have shown promise in the past are some of my favorites: Hostgator, Dreamhost, Bluehost, etc. However as I was browsing the web one night (like always) I ran into a great looking hosting company, This*.

This* Web Hosting is very affordable, provides an awesome interface to work with as a client, and the site’s design is very nice and easy to navigate. Along with that, the founders of the site keep a blog called This & That, where coupons and discounts are posted, along with important news and updates. I got a great interview with the company’s brains David and Jules, and they’ve got some great information about their very successful and upcoming web hosting company. Read More…

Founder of Omegle.com Answers Questions From Redditors

Omegle.com Logo Omegle.com has spread across many social networking hubs, forums, and internet chatrooms rapidly over the past few months. It’s a new site with a very simple concept: you log in anonymously and talk to someone else. Someone random, someone you’ve *probably* never even met before, just talking about whatever. It seems like a breeding ground for spam and pranks, but it ultimately seen very positive results in traffic and user response.

After logging into Reddit the other day, I was surprised to see in one of my favorite subreddits IAmA a topic by the title “I made Omegle.com. AMA“. I figured this was just a prank, but the submitter even provided some proof. I was shocked, and it was the perfect time to learn a bit more about a great upcoming social media website. Read More…

Interview with CollegeHumor’s Designer Anna Hiort

CollegeHumor Logo I’ve gotten my fair share of laughs from all of the hilarious content on the internet today. Photoshopped photos and amazing/retarded videos are spread like wildfire through forums and social networking sites. However, one of the best sites I’ve ever run across for generally hilarious content has to be Collegehumor. Not only does the site provide hilarious and amusing videos and content, it also has a very large community involvement in the site and a great looking web 2.0 design.
