As Twitter is growing in popularity each and every month, more people are looking to the mobile web for entertainment. Whether it be waiting online at the bank or supermarket, or even relaxing at a relatives house with some time to kill, mobile phones are making it easier for us to connect with the entire web.
With iPhone sales launching through the roof, we can only see how mobile Twitter clients will become more and more useful. As Twitter has officially purchased Tweetie to be their “official” application, it’s made it difficult to developers to break into the market. However I just downloaded Twitterrific the other day, and I’m blown away by such enhanced functionality.

The former reigning king of social networking land MySpace is rolling out new user profile designs. The update came from Sean Percival, Myspace’s VP of Online Marketing. In a short tweet Sean linked to his online profile, describing it as a “Clean new profile”.
The design updates do look amazing, and you can’t help but realize these are long overdue. MySpace has always looked like a 10 year old’s playground when it comes to profile pages frontend and backend. Luckily it appears as though the company has drawn upon many inspirations similar to Facebook for user interface panels.

At this point most web designers & developers ingrained in the field know about DesignFloat. It’s a very popular social news submission service where blog authors or content readers can submit their favorite or most interesting news articles, and the published stories with the most votes hit the front page. It has spurred many similar sites, but DesignFloat has always reigned king.
I recently had a fantastic interview with the site’s Relations Manager Mortimer. He revealed some interesting tidbits about DesignFloat, along with their future plans for market competition and how to innovate the social network.

Since the major success of Dribbble designers and developers have been looking for such amazing communities to share resources. Because of this, Forrst.com isn’t really a totally new idea in and of itself. However the implementation and UI features are so unique, the community has exploded over the past few months since launch.
Forrst allows you to register an account and run your own profile, similar to a Twitter or Foursquare profile. You can follow other designers/developers in the community to receive their updates on your homepage dashboard.. also in real-time! You can choose to share graphics or mockup designs, called “snaps”, with all of your followers in the community. You can also share snippits of code and even as questions directly to the Forrst community!

An update today on the official Blogger blog has introduced us to Google’s latest invention: Blogger Stats. An inline analytics tool working in real-time on all blogs powered by Blogger. You can see current trending searches, visitors and total times per page, along with so many other features.
You can view historically over the past weeks/months, or check your blog posts day-by-day to see which one’s are gaining the most momentum. Google seems to be utilizing a lot of tools from their popular Analytics software, however updated in real-time streamlined directly to your Blogger dashboard!

In Episode 11 of The Random Show, Kevin Rose and Tim Ferriss discuss internet venture news, latest ongoings in the tech world and their own personal lives. It’s really a great program, and the latest episode showcased some fascinating news. The episode is just over 34 mins. long, but you can catch Kevin’s discussion on Digg from this video link.
Kevin talks about how since he has stepped up as CEO of Digg, he’s been really excited about all of the major overhaul’s and changes to the design and interface. He mentioned being under a lot of stress, but in a good way as it’s caused him to re-live the passion of developing and innovating for Digg.

It was announced on a page through Grooveshark’s VIP Area that all previous members of Lala will be getting a free 1 month pass into Grooveshark’s VIP program. You simple go to the address above and enter the special VIP code given to you by Grooveshark.
A few months ago it was announced that huge music site Lala was closing down. It appeared to be heading on a great track, as many search results would pop up in Google through Lala when somebody would search for a song name or artist.
